Welcome!
I'm Melissa Woods, author of the heartwarming new children’s book, “The Late Bloomer”. This page provides information about the book and how to schedule a visit.
About the Book:
Spring is here and all is in bloom, except a young walnut tree, who is filled with gloom. Walnut wants to grow leaves like all of its friends, but it is still bare as spring comes to an end. With patience and time, Walnut comes to know: there’s nothing wrong with growing slow.
This inspirational story will resonate deeply with the many children who feel left behind as they watch their peers grow. With gentle rhymes that introduce children to the power of poetry, The Late Bloomer is sure to touch the hearts of children and adults alike.
I love connecting with others and sharing my love of storytelling, both written and visual. I offer visits for libraries, schools, bookstores, book clubs, and community gathering places. Visits can be in person, online, or hybrid. My presentations can be tailored to different age groups and interests, focusing on topics such as the writing and artistic process, the inspiration behind “The Late Bloomer”, interactive storytelling activities, and Q&A sessions.
